Our coaches are dedicated professionals with extensive knowledge, aiming to instill values in our youth that will help them achieve success in sports, excel in school, and prepare for life.

Nate ickes

Nate Ickes graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1998. He then attended the University of Akron, earning a degree in Criminal Justice. In 1999, Nate enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for eight years with the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, including a combat tour in Iraq and Syria in 2005.

In 2004, Nate married his wife, Sarah. They have three children and are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary this year.

For the past 13 years, Nate has been coaching baseball and softball. He emphasizes to his players that baseball is a game of failure, and how they respond to failure is the most important quality he looks for in a player. Nate believes baseball is a valuable tool for children to navigate life, learning important lessons along the way. He also stresses that baseball should be fun, not a job. While the team will work hard, he wants to ensure that the experience is enjoyable and not just another task.

Michael maxwel

Coach Michael is dedicated to instilling values of teamwork, respect, and determination both on and off the field. He strives to create an unforgettable experience that promotes personal growth, camaraderie, and a love for the game.

Oscar mcbenttes

Coach Oscar believes in instilling humility and rewarding passionate players with opportunities. He aims to foster empathy and reliability, which are values he lives by and skills he strives to instill in his children and players.

larry craig

Coach Larry is passionate about running drills and focusing on the fundamentals of fielding, hand and footwork, and overall situational awareness. He believes that every player can improve and is dedicated to helping them achieve their goals.
